Excuse me while I rant for a minute. Once again, curiosity killed the cat. I read some of the comments under the Yahoo! Financially fit video. It’s strange to read so many comments about our home. It’s like being able to hear all the thoughts of people at Food Lion. The cyber-jabber is floating around me, 60,000 voices crowding my property. Most of them say “Yes! This is fantastic. Americans need to become resourceful. You guys are my heros.” (Thanks, for this positive encouragement!) A few say, “Oh my gosh, you have changed my life. Right here, right now. Last week, I got a text from Karl with a picture of Ella dressed in one of her amazing fashion creations. “Best one yet,” the text read. I was already at school (work) and wondered if he actually put her on the bus in that outfit. I knew he most likely did, as he has been great at encouraging Ella to be herself and not worry about what other people think. I tell her that too, but my actions say otherwise. Tiny House Family got all made-up last week for the Anderson Cooper daytime talk show. (Show airs Monday, April 9th–check andersoncooper.com for channel and time.) The whole experience was a lot of fun. I especially like how the video of our tiny house turned out, and how I am on camera with no makeup (okay, a bit of powder foundation) for the video; then on stage at the show after two hours of hair and makeup, I look like a different person. TV is made up of real people with amazing hair and make-up artists. I enjoyed the OUTRAGEOUS differences in lifestyle between NYC and our little mountain homestead.
